Just passing through en route to the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District or beyond? Instead of passing us by why not stop and explore this hidden corner of Lancashire, Pendle is relatively undiscovered by the tourist, yet is an ideal place to take a break in your journey from South to North for an overnight stay, or better still to enjoy a short break, staying for three or four days to appreciate what this lovely area really has to offer.

Pendle's small towns and villages have a full range of different types of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets, all offering a great Lancashire welcome, from small family owned and run B&Bs and guest houses to town and country hotels and traditional pubs, many of which also offer accommodation.

There are many working farms in the area with sheep, cattle and horses, which offer a taste of the countryside for a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of traffic, especially suitable for families with children, and the stressed businessman!

The self-catering option is also catered for with cottages, caravan and camp-sites, and the majority of our members have been inspected and graded by the English Tourism Council, the AA or the RAC assuring the visitor of a high standard. (Check this when booking).

The area is served with two Tourist Information Centres, one at the Pendle Heritage Centre, in Barrowford, Tel. 01282 661701, and one in Barnoldswick, Tel. 01282 666704, and a quick telephone call to either will ensure a helpful response from their friendly staff, both will be able to supply you with a free Pendle Guide, giving details of accommodation, free leaflets and information, and also provide a Bed Booking service.

The Pendle area is extremely well served with motorways, and is easy to reach from all areas, the M65 runs into the area from the M6, Manchester Airport is less than 1 hour's drive, York, The Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Bronte Country, the Fylde Coast, all are easily accessed from Pendle.

Whatever the reason for your visit to Pendle, whether business or pleasure , you will find something to suit your requirements, and the most famous attribute of Lancashire folk is their friendliness, so rest assured of the warmest of welcomes in this undiscovered part of Lancashire!!
